Exposing the Apathy of American culture, Denial embodies everything that is Reservoir. It also has a cool solo. |
CD: Room 101
Label: Borderline Records
Credits: Jason Kolkey and Judson Brown. |
Story Behind the Song
Recorded and written at Borderline studios in Woodstock Illinois, Denail was eventually completed after about two hundered some takes. Guitarist Judson Brown and Vocalist Jason Kolkey worked countless hours getting the parts to perfection.
Denial, as well as the other four tracks on the Epochal Room 101, was recorded on a KORG D-1600 and Mastered with Cool Edit Pro In-House at Borderline Studios. The was recorded independently with the use of only a few thousand dollars of equipment, and still sounds good, is testament of the vast skill and dedication that is Reservoir.
Lyrics
DENIAL
Privacy eliminated.
Freedom decimated.
Silently discriminated.
Prejudice disseminated.
Pre-Chorus
You don’t care. You don’t care, no.
You don’t care. You don’t care, no.
Information overload.
Incomprehensible code.
Thinking gives you a headache.
Judgment’s not for you to make.
Pre- Chorus
Chorus
I’m okay. You’re okay.
Denial makes it go away.
We’re okay. We’re okay.
Denial makes it go away.
Apathy’s the easy route.
No need to think things out.
Living from day to day.
Nothing new to say.
Pre-Chorus
Chorus
Mommy’s sneaking a drink
At the bathroom sink.
Daddy had some fun last night,
And he knows it wasn’t right.
Kids are pill-popping,
Hooked on their Ritalin.
Pre-Chorus
