	Story Behind the Song The motivation for the song was the stormy night of the Harmonic Convergence, August 16-17, 1987. Mark and I were on a wind-swept, lightning-illuminated bluff above the Illinois River near Peoria, Illinois, when the cloud formations took on the images of a white UFO and a black one locked in cosmic battle. Earlier in the day, there was gentle sunlight around Mark's head -- now, there were dramatic contrasts of Light and Dark, with Light joyously triumphing as the black clouds rolled away, the wind receded, and peacefulness ultimately prevailed. The next morning in bed, the song came through as fast as the previous night's storm. It was ready to perform the same day. The lyrics point to the victory of Light over Dark. And the images specifically recalled my previous personal encounters with UFOs. This 8-track recording required about a year, off and on, traveling to a friend's studio. He had a new Mac and a new baby, and what with many experiments and many distractions, we thought we'd never finish! But all seem to agree the song is a seamless masterpiece!
