	Story Behind the Song This is about the undermining of passion by negative thoughts and perceptions, or by circumstances that intervene to disrupt the relationship. The exhiliration of the initial romantic encounter gives way to doubt. Suddenly there are second thoughts. You realise that there is a lot you do not know about your new love, whose previous existence begins to interfere. The past, in the form of previous and ongoing attachments, and the habits and values of a lifetime, begin to raise questions about compatibility. There may be jealousy, because you cannot possess or wipe away the other's past life - that part of their life which has been lived without you.
