	As war destroys the cradle of civilization I needed to create a lament for my heart to express my sadness and anger and fear. This song is that lament.

	Story Behind the Song I had my battery of televisions tuned to the war as I sat down in front of my Korg Triton and began composing the rumbling, muffled rythymn tracks for this cut. I tried a number of samples from the news or musics from Iraq but it all sounded so contrived. I went for a more sincere realtime approach. The one vocal sample I did use is from my work with "Arcanta". The voice at the beginning and end of the piece is that of Thomas Carysle-Ayers, Brother Tom of Arcanta, on "Eternal Return", our first CD on Projekt Records. I wanted my vocals to be distorted like a battlefield dispatch with waves modulating at will. So I flanged my voice. It's not quite where I want it to be and I will soon post another mix with a beefier drum track and more sound separation.
