	“Heart From Tragedy” is an original, soft and reflective love ballad of trumpets, strings and jazz percussion, a modern composition that conjures up memories of 1950's classics from artists such as Doris Day and Patsy Cline.

	Story Behind the Song It is said that in order to write something well you must write what you know. "Heart From Tragedy" is a song that for me embodies a collection of personal thoughts and past experiences I've had in love. Each time we love we learn something new, and with that we gain a stronger sense of discernment. This song is about a desire to experience a pure and genuine love and the unwillingness to settle for anything less than that. I wrote this song within a couple days, and a few weeks later recorded it in the studio. To my delight I listened as the song matured, took form and started taking on a life of it's own, (as most songs do once you have the right tools to create and express them). I really feel the end result of that recording session is a song that captures the combination of heartache and vulnerability that goes along with a broken heart that is starting to feel, and experience love again.
