Story Behind the Song
The song came from what felt to me like a nice flow of folky chords and "a head full of ideas that were driving me insane" Written during a full frontal substance desensitzing attack it didn't seem to take long at all to write and was just as easily committed to tape.
Lyrics
So you think I've come and gone but I'm hangin' on only. To see what good can come from wood that's been washed back from the sea, but innocence was not a gift you often found empty, on closer look I think that book was opened up for me. Lookin' back but right on track it's easy to equate, the dominance in it's essence of how hard it is to wait, while preachers without relevance in reverence they hide, while outside commerce promises to bring them to it's knees and to it's side. Now in haste they change the pace like water over rails, and the cautious moves and raucous crews of a freighter without sails, while messengers are reciting words they know they dare not to repeat, lavished in their praise of days they know now went down in defeat. If it's past I hope you last and will be here to report, on all those fears that you've held for years and find hard now not to extort, but ectasy never came easy, not in a lifetime, or in vain, now they're gone I hope they're where they belong both in spirit as well as in name.
