Story Behind the Song
This is the newest version of the song, I like it a lot better than the first one. The instrumentation has improved, as has the melody.
The song is about a very special girl in my life, and it seems my 'waiting' has paid off... guess it's time to write some more songs. :)
I hope you enjoy this new version, send any feedback you see fit to forkontheleft@yahoo.com -- thanks. Peace.
Lyrics
Countless vacant spaces fill the open wounds
Like cigarettes on fire, or lemonade in june
The wonders of your mind become mysteries untold
The enigmatic science of true love that ever grows.
And so I'll wait for you, however long it takes
I'd risk myself, my all for you, no matter what the stakes
I'll push all of your buttons, and somehow reach the one
The one that lets me in again, a whole new kind of fun.
I'll swim through all your secrets, and pop them like balloons
I'll crawl up in your memory like a sunday afternoon
I won't fade away to nothing, no matter how hard you try
You got me for good or for bad, and don't you dare ask why...
A million times I tell you you're the only one for me
A million times I tell you that it's only you I see
And so I'd wait for you, through these clouds of misdefeat
Uncertainty's not lacking here, but that's okay by me
The wounds may be left open by the memory of your call
But it's better to have loved and lost than to've never loved at all.
A million times I tell you you're the only one for me
A million times I tell you that it's only you I see
A million times I tell you you're the light that makes my day
And a million times I tell you you're the reason why I'll stay.
