Story Behind the Song
So beautiful. So sad, so real. As the waves of the ocean bring upon the rise of the tide against my precious waterfront at the edge of the forest, at Green lake, I sat, and I wrote this movement. Never had I brought so much feeling to my work. As I was to leave Interlochen that year, I felt it only right to give tribute to this lake, as it had been so special to me. I would often times retreat to its front to silently compose into the late hours of the night. Just me, the stars, the tide.
