	Story Behind the Song this was musically inspired a year or two ago. back then, tom and erik were trying to start an emotive punk band. jaime farnan (the last gift) and i were supposed to come in to do guitar and vocals, but it never really worked out. however, this is one of the things jaime and i came up with during a writing session, i believe. it was presented to these four Survival dudes in december, and everyone did their own thing to it Lyrics lyrically, this reeks of confusion. it's sort of a battle between finding that person you've lost, when, in reality, you didn't tangibly lose the person, but more so the way that person used to be. when you regain contact with the person, you realize the changes they've undergone and they keep trying to make things work; to make things perfect. unfortunately, this can't be, because you knew the person from before, not this new person. so this 'relationship' that you must trudge through smells of failure and falsehood. of course, you still go through with it. the ending is sort of a staged situation... mentally, what you wish would happen, but doesn't
