For All My Friends has more of an upbeat, bounce around feel to it, with many many buildups and of course The CON's usual song-style structure of simply 3 chords, a simple vamp from B flat minor (add 9) to G flat Major (add 9), to A flat Major, then back to B flat minor again. Starting off with a slow, clean guitar intro, with a haunting lead part over it, this song soon breaks into the energetic rhythm/lead/palm muting special that The CON is famous for. Well, in Byron anyway. There are two recognizable differing parts in the song, mostly discernable by David O'Connors changing drum pattern, and introduction of new solos. The epic, in all, clocking in at 6 minutes, is another sampling of hatred/anger/frustration from AJ Tardy/Corey Placito's library of song lyrics. With the two guitarists switching on and off the responsibility of vocalizing, including screaming their guts out at the audience, in rage to someone who has hurt one of them in the past, this song has a very cool sing along at the end, and is sure to be a favorite on the up and coming Hopewell studio recorded release. You guys maybe aren't ready for it yet, but your kids are gonna love it. (written by Alex Placito) |
