    Story Behind the Song
Mainly the song is about how everyday hopes and dreams sometimes are not realized, by no fault other than dumb luck, and how easy it can be to shut out future happenings by letting your past rule the day. I had a lot of good friends help me make this recording. Some played on this tune and others made me drink beer to calm my nerves while I did the vocals. All in all,I had too much fun making this CD full of self-pity songs!

    Lyrics
The Lonely Side Of My Heart

Welcome to the lonely side of my heart
Where its always nice and dark, no ones allowed in here
Sometimes a woman tries to break in
Its happened time and time again
Its a place theyve never been, and a place they always fear
The lonely side of my heart

I carry pictures of the past
Cause my memorys fading fast of the good times
The streets arent paved with gold
But nobody ever grows old in this paradise
Ive traveled many years, and Ive left a trail of tears
But my thoughts are lost in time
I keep my dreams among the stars
And my hopes reside on the lonely side of my heart

    Repeat Chorus

There are faces in my mind
Of the ones Ive left behind to hold their own
    Whats on the other side
I have nothing more to hide, its a heart of stone
Ive seen what no ones seen, and all the places in between
Now Im not afraid to die alone
    My dreams are torn apart
And my hopes have died on the lonely side of my heart

    Repeat Chorus

    Solo

    Repeat Chorus
