A song against the war. |
Credits: Lyrics : Anabel/ Jean-François Hamel. Music : J- F Hamel / Richard Maheux / Anabel. Produced and arranged by R.Maheux |
Story Behind the Song
This war, like every other, will kill innocents and condemn young people, from both sides, to die for a cause which will not find any solution into weapon's chaos.
To make ourselves heard, it's to push forward the quest for solutions to problems that may be hard to solve, but not impossible .
The challenge is definitely reachable for mankind , who has succeeded in eradicating many diseases and improved humanity 's life conditions in so many ways. This call has to be heard.
Our wish is for all the peolple who's against the war, to never give up and keep on protesting.
We, Anabel, Richard Maheux and Jean-Francois Hamel, are presently preparing an album. But the present circumstances make us believe that it is essential for this song to be heard as soon as possible.
Lyrics
Mr President
I’m the daughter you never had
And you’re sending me to war
Father, why do you want me to die
Mr President
You promised to be fair
And always kill the killer
Father, but what if it’s my turn to die
Why should we all keep silent
When thousands of people are dying
Mr president
There’s a kid without a smile
There’s a chance he’ll never have
Father, why does he deserve to die
Mr Providence
There’s a threat above our head
Can you tell us where you’re gonna be
Father, when I’ll be our turn to cry
Why should we all keep silent
When thousands of people are dying
How could you kill the children
You Father of the nation
