Story Behind the Song
This song was first recorded in June 1988 at Studio B in Evansville, Indiana. Butch Shamell on bass, MJ on keys, drums and vocals. 15 years later, I pull out the master tape and cut a whole new version with Greg Price on guitar.
Real life on the street. All the truth you can deal with.

LIVING ON THE STREET
Lyrics by Michael Jai
Music by Michael Jai, Butch Shamell & Greg Price
Out there on the street.
Living to the beat.
The high-tech generation on the run.
There's not just one solution,
To this ball of confusion.
So don't give up,
Or stop havin' fun.
Everybody needs love and happiness.
Everybody needs a piece of the best.
Everybody's got a heart full of love,
So everybody look to the stars above,
For the light.
Light of Love.
Looking for the light.
I'm just looking for the light.
Light of Love.
Won't you shine on me.
There will be wars and rumors of wars.
That's what the Bible said.
When I look in the street,
What do I see?
Homeless, Violence,
Poverty, Unemployment,
Weapons of Mass Destruction.
But you know,
We can always have Peace.
Peace in the streets, my brother.
Just look for the light.
