Story Behind the Song
The song was recorded in one day (along with 4 others including the rest on this page) at Ocean Studios in Burbank. Everything was 1 or 2 takes 'cause, well, it's all downhill from there isn't it?
Written in an evening in Canada after my friend Glen MacArthur played me this silly riff and chorus and didn't know what to do with it. Remember hippie bands like "Rare Earth" and "Canned Heat"? It's a little tribute/parody of that sort of thing. Rare Earth had a song called "Big Brother".
Look up Glen's stuff if you can find it, he's a pretty talented fella.
It was also written for a group called "Acid Mud Flower"; a great 90's London, Ontario, Canada band that had more riffs than Jimmy Page and way better bell bottoms. They had a terrific indie album called "Aquarium" and an EP called "Girth" if I'm not mistaken.
