	Story Behind the Song This song came together really quick. The main parts of the song were complete within a few days of practicing. Dave wrote the basic acoustic guitar parts and vocals for the song. Mark wrote the electric parts, using the e bow. Both members of the band sing in the chorus of the song, and Dave sings all of the other vocal parts. This song was also recorded in teh middle of the night, along with all the other songs up to this point. Lyrics Don't try too hard to say something profound. Don't let the day's rain sink too deep into the ground. I know you've got some things hidden beneath your smile. Do what you have to do and keep them safe for awhile. Sometimes I feel like you aren't even trying. It's a shame for me and all these lies that I'm buying. Pull me inside out-we've still got half a world to go, And maybe all these embers will turn to fallen snow. The morning and the evening star are more than what we think of who we are. I can't deny that when I make mistakes, and when I lie in bed and the silence breaks that my eyes are shut, but I'm still awake. I let my feet go cold so I can cover my head. I still hear all the wrong things that I've said. I want to tell you that I'm sorry, 'cause I feel so ashamed.
