Story Behind the Song
Got the idea for the song in a book store and then went home and completed it that night.
Lyrics
Seasons Pass
Highway clear, headlights on
The stereo it plays our song
White lines flashing in my head
The things I should have said to you
I drove down the wrong avenue
I saw it in your eyes, too late to change
Chorus
Seasons pass, stuck in traffic of the heart
Seasons pass, but loneliness will not depart
Seasons pass, fire of summer love is gone
And winter’s cold has stayed too long
Stayed too long
Called on you, no surprise
Hands in pockets, tears in eyes
Sun was bright, t’was dark inside
Hopeful voice, you did not hide
Your words were kind, I was resigned
Summer love was over, you were going home
Chorus
(Bridge)
I’d change it all if I just had the chance
I would walk on water, I would dance your dance
Chorus to fade
