	Story Behind the Song In 1984 I attended a meeting where the story of the prodigal son was told. I had heard the story before but this time I heard it with ears that were atuned to what the spirit had to say. I realized that I was the prodigal son and that I, like all of mankind, had left my heavenly Father behind through sin and that I was living a life apart from God. At the end of that meeting I heard the truth of how Jesus had died that I might have eternal life. That He came to restore my relationship with my heavenly Father and that it was my choice whether or no to accept His sacrice on the cross. We all need to decide whether or not to accept what happened at Calvary 2000 years ago. I chose to accept His sacrifice. This song comes out of the decision I made nearly 20 years ago to be counted as a believer in Jesus Christ. Lyrics Lord I know that I'm a sinner and I come on bended knee.
