its kind of a rough draft, but we dont really play this song anymore, so i guess its a final draft. lots of distortion, and singing/yelling until the end, where there are some nice harmonies. |
CD: third world orchestra demo

Story Behind the Song
song was written in the garage of cullen. it is about going off to war. its not a protest song or anything, but it mainly focuses on how "we" (the soldiers going off to war) were once just innocent little kids who had no worries.
Lyrics
ignore the bicentenial
we were never given light
shadows of the sentinal
trails blazed in the night
we were never meant
to be more than men
take my shaking hand
as i walk through foreign lands
in future times of wrong
ignore this call to arms
half of what we kill
comes back twice as strong
sails set for avolon
do you think we had a choice
will we see the break of dawn
if we can sleep through the noise
remember sega genisis
all the games we played
hot wheels, legos, dominoes
in hyperdrive we prayed
that God would send a golden ship
and that it would take us away
say,
1234567
all good children go to heaven
now times caught up and knocked us down
we forgot that silly rhyme
airplane wing has slit our throat
this is the end of time
though
spears carress your naked back
make one promise to me
that you wont get on that boat
