Story Behind the Song
Wrote this tune a couple of summer's ago sitting around the pool in my backyard drinkin' beers. Pretty much encompasses our attitudes to working crappy jobs and longing for something more out of ourselves, and our lives in general.
Lyrics
Lifeless Ordinary
When I feel I’m on a roll, I can not feed it
When I feel the fire flow, I can not breathe it
When I think of what’s to come, I only fear it
When I’ve known the things I’ve done, I can not beat it
On the South-side looking down, I can not be afraid…
A lifeless ordinary,
A life less ordinary
A lifeless ordinary
I can not be a…
A lifeless ordinary
A life less ordinary
A lifeless ordinary
I know I can not be a…
If you could only see me now, and feel my heart beat
If you could step into my shoes, and see where I’ve been
I wanted nothing more than what I am in need of
A fix for all the pain, and trust that I was robbed of
On the South-side looking down, I can not be afraid…
A lifeless ordinary,
A life less ordinary
A lifeless ordinary
I can not be a…
A lifeless ordinary
A life less ordinary
A lifeless ordinary
I know I can not be a…
When I feel I’m far away, all my feelings start to stray
You bring me back home…
But now that you are not around, and I’m back on solid ground
I know that I will never be a…
On the South-side looking down, I can not be afraid…
A lifeless ordinary,
A life less ordinary
A lifeless ordinary
I can not be a…
A lifeless ordinary
A life less ordinary
A lifeless ordinary
I know I can not be a…
On the South-side looking down…
