"Farewell to Edinburgh" | genre: Folk | |

Guitar solo. Instrumental written during the time I was leaving Edinburgh after 30 years, moving to the BIG city of Glasgow. Alwys fancied it was while I was waiting for the movers to come and pick up my furniture! Probably not all that accurate, but... it fits. Quite a wistful little melody, not really how I felt about escaping from Edinburgh at last! |

Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song very quickly - all fell very naturally into place. It's been suggested many times that there should be another instrument in there (usually by a player of that instrument at the time - I've had harmonica, slide, another guitar, vocal all trying to pitch in)but I've always felt that the simple melody should be allowed to stand up on its own. As a result, this song was recorded in one take and took about 10mins to mix.
