When all the people go home, what happens at the zoo?

    Lyrics
    THE ELEPHANT PLAYED ELECTRIC GUITAR

I love going to the zoo
    but after I go home
I wonder what do the animals do
    when they’re all alone

    One day after everybody left
I stayed and hid so well
and I’ll tell you just what I saw next
if you promise not to tell.

    The animals all had keys
they came out on the lawn.
They all had cake and tea
then this is what I saw:

Oh the elephant played electric guitar,
The monkey started drummin’ underneath the stars,
    alligators dancin’ in the dark
when the elephant played electric guitar.

The penguin played piano with a both of his feet.
The birds chirped a little bit of “tweet tweet tweet”,
kangaroos a movin’ and hoppin’ so far
when the elephant played electric guitar.

They played till they were done
then they went back in their cages.
    Guitar, piano and drum
    they hid in different places.

    The zoo keeper started working
    fed the animals breakfast.
They were hungry and oh so thirsty
and all day long they rested.

People came and they were staring
    all day long.
    The animals acted ordinary
    till everyone was gone.

    Chorus.

Now I was in my hiding place
where I could not be seen.
Then I got a feeling in my face
like I was going to sneeze.

I tried to make the feeling leave
    but then I went “ACHOO!”.
Then guess who I saw staring at me:
    the entire zoo.

Lions and tiger and bears , oh my.
I thought that they would eat me.
I got scared I began to cry ,
“I’m sorry I was so sneaky.”

The lion patted me with his paw,
I was hugged by the gorilla.
They said, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw
    except for little children.”

    Chorus
