'It's undoubtedly Doug's guitar work that grabs you by the throat. One minute he's Frank Zappa, the next he's Melvin 'wah-wah' Ragin and before you can blink he's been through Vernon Reid and out the other side, this man can play'.

Story Behind the Song
‘This album is the result of two years worth of composing and recording. The musicians played what the scores asked them to play and God bless them, they didn’t mind elaborating on it when required.
Glasgow in the 1970’s was no hotbed of swing. I did not grow up listening to jazz but was hooked like many, by Pat Metheny in the early 80’s, Hermeto Pascoal’s emphatic composition followed, Steve Coleman told anyone listening, Last Exit put the hosepipe waving fraternity to shame, Scofield diminished his returns and the writers Coover, Abish and Hawkes continue to inspire. All this is wrapped up in this music, somehow.’ Doug Kinloch.
