	Story Behind the Song This song is a salute to the music of Peter, Paul and Mary who were a big part of my early listening in the 1960's. I hope I managed to recreate some of their spirit. Lyrics 1. The door is open, come on in! Sit down! I'll tell my story if I can. If you love the Bible, and the Son of God made man; Then you know who I am! Chorus: I am the child! Yes, it was me! Jesus took my hand and sat me on his knee. When I looked into His eyes, I didn't know quite what I'd see. But now I understand God's family! 2. A crowd had gathered in our square. I ran, I didn't want to miss the show. And the man they'd come to see, asked my name and called to me. And spoke of things that all of us should know. Chorus 3. My thoughts turn often to that day.
