Credits: Written by: Zac Butt and Jesse Chandler |
Story Behind the Song
This song, musically was written in a week, by the lead guitarist of Silent Lies, Zac. Trying to break out the constrictiveness of the Las Vegas music scene, he dared to write something great, something with talent. It's early melancholy feel is transnded by the bridge that gives rock fans something to bang their heads to.
Lyrically, vocalist Jesse, chose to take his time with the lyrics, writing them in almost two weeks. He saw the potential in the song and wanted do it credit by giving it epic lyrics. The song initially is a bout a man reflecting after his death if the people he killed in battle was worth it, or if it damn him for eternity. However, different interpretations have been given and should left up to each individual, every song is different to each different listener.
Lyrics
Judgment
Who am I and tell me what I've done
My enemies have come to peace, be still the waking one
Where am I and tell me what I feel
Sorrow paints the perfect me, the end has now become
So tell me what I've done
Who am I and tell me what has come
Misery has tainted dreams, when everhthings undone
What has past and tell me what is real
Why is everything so clean, but my hands are filled with blood
So tell me what I've done
Am I to pay for what I've done
Or has the reaper chosen one
am I to feel for what I've done
This life aint nothin but a dream
But judgment now has come
Judgment now has come
This life aint nothin but a dream
But judgment now has come
This life aint nothin but a dream
But judgment now has come
