Here's a song I wrote about any event or moment in life where something completely devastating happens. It's about that moment, however long it may be, when we can't talk, can't move, can't even breathe, when we swear our heart has stopped along with everything else in our body and life. It's about any moment where we are completely devasted and we know our lives will never be the same because of it. |

Story Behind the Song
This song was written ten months after the September 11th attacks. At the time I had gotten inspiration for this song from reliving that day after reading some articles and stories about it again. However, this song evolved into a song that dealt more with those moments in life where we are completely devasted. Those horrific moments that will always be burned into our memory. For some it was September 11th, for others it may be the death of a loved one, and for others it could be so many other things.
Lyrics
The day my heart stopped
If only for a moment
Was a day of horror
A day my breath stopped
And I was stilled
The day my heart stopped
I remember minutes ago
Weeping in seclusion for days
The day my heart stopped
That day will always be
Seconds away in my heart
The day my heart stopped
Counting the tears until I can close my eyes
And it’s a dream
Call it a nightmare
The day my heart stopped
Crush, broken, beaten, stabbed
I stopped loving on that day
Stopped my Utopian dreams
Dreams of castles in the sky
And empires of innocence
Dreams that disappeared
On the day my heart stopped
Counting the tears until I can close my eyes
And it’s a dream
Call it a nightmare
The day my heart stopped
Crush, broken, beaten, stabbed
I stopped loving on that day
Stopped my Utopian dreams
Dreams of castles in the sky
And empires of innocence
Dreams that disappeared
On the day my heart stopped
