Story Behind the Song
We all have our demons and baggage.
At some point in life (better sooner than later) we all call upon some higher power to lead us home, to answer the question, to explain what we can't understand. I think we all feel a long way from home from time to time. If you don't, then get the hell out of your box and push your limits. As a friend once told me, "Cease the mundane, the mediocrity, the security. Seize the opportunity, the vision, the dream. THE SHIP HAS SET SAIL...." Good advice always comes at a worthy price. I am not afraid to feel along way from home as long as I manage to remember my way back.
Lyrics
They race me out there,
Into the heart of winter's cold.
Well I'm chasing thieves for my pride,
Or for the soul that I may have sold.
And though I'm breaking down,
I keep falling down,
Will someone please reach out to me.
I'm rattlin' under the crack of the thunder,
Waiting on delivery.
Chorus:
I'm along, long way from home.
And I'm feeling so alone.
I'm along, long way from home.
And I'm standing here all alone.
This race takes many,
No one runs from their death.
No fear will hold me steady,
While I fight for my last breath.
And though I'm falling down,
I keep falling down,
This power draws me from my knees,
I caught a glimpse of the wonder
Behind the thunder,
Oh Lord will you help me please
Chorus:
Bridge:
See the carnival bollons,
Dancing in the air,
Colors lifting covers
Over things we shared.
But one small hole will bring them down,
Crashing roller coasters,
Make a mighty sound.
Chorus:
