Lyrics
PATRIOT DAY
(Verse 1)
Sept. 11 lots of Smokeies died.
Trying to rescue all those people trapped inside
Climbing with courage as the South Tower fell
On that Tuesday good morning to hell
(Verse 2)
Bobby, Mitch, they were used to saving lives
They didnt know how to run backwards
They ran straight into the fire
So many heroes in one place at one time
On that Tuesday good morning to hell
(Chorus)
Grieving young widows, Motherless children, Broken up Families
(Verse 3)
Climbing 80 floors with loads upon their backs
Their eyes confirmed that look we re never coming back
If you go I go legend laid right on the line
Never so many all together at one time,
On that Tuesday good morning to hell
(Verse 4)
Home of the brave may be West St. NY
Their spirits live on at the Persian Gulf ports
They live in the hearts of our warriors young
And they wont rest in peace till they get this job done
(Chorus)
Grieving young widows, Motherless children, Broken up Families
Were United States, heres what we say, Dont forget Patriot Day
(Verse 5)
Beware of the man with the tear in his eye
Our President leads with the courage to cry
Were strong were united,
Our flag flying high
They started this war
Now its their turn to die
Grieving young widows, Motherless children, Broken up Families
Were United States, heres what we say Dont forget Patriot Day,
Beware of the man with the tear in his eye
For my courageous Brother Bobby
