Story Behind the Song
The lyrics pretty much describe it. Um, yeah that's all.
Lyrics
Pick her up at about 5 o’clock,
We head to the lake for a picnic and a serenade.
Things go well at first,
She seems to like the sandwich I made-
‘Bout the last bite or two
I hear a little bee buzzing around my head.
So I put up my dukes and the bee goes down in the first round.-
Something’s gone wrong here, could this be an omen for me?
I’ll find out soon enough when I go in for a little love.
I find- out, that she, isn’t into me, (break) when she laughs in my face.
That was a bit awkward she said,
Well of course it was we’ve been friends for so long now.
Sorry it wasn’t you I just think it’s funny that me and you- were getting along so well.
Then a black cat walks in front of me I should have seen that this would be alright if I’d closed my eyes.
And thought good thoughts again.
