Story Behind the Song
Mike G. was jamming with John Regan one day, and they came up with this tune. John wrote the lyrics that day. That Fall, Mike was working as a Studio Assistant at 5 Towns College, and found a couple free hours when someone didn't show up for their scheduled studio time. He recorded this quickly, in 2 hours, alone on a 1" 8 track reel-to-reel. He didn't have the lyrics with him, so sang what was Very close to what John had written, but not quite right. They sorta stuck this way.
Lyrics
Too many reasons to live alone. Too many chances come and gone. Too many ways I could die before you. Too many sicknesses. Under a street light, too many last rites, feeling that I can't see. Gone with the seasons, too many reasons, too many ways to be. Too many storms blown out to sea. Too many times I'm yet to see. Too many tries at something healthy. Too many sicknesses.
