    Story Behind the Song
Written on a cold winter's day as the rain fell both inside and out. This song came to me as a reminder that I am not alone in feeling alone from time to time. ( in my case most of the time ) Although there is no hill without end it often feels like the climb sucks our life away. Take the time to recognize your fire, feed it, allow it to grow, sometimes as the risk of being burned.

    Lyrics
There's a picture on your wall I'm sure of a place you'd like to be.
There's an old man at the corner, who looks across the raging sea.
And if you ask him he might tell you, about a time when he would care.
He wasn't shot down for an open heart or willingness to care.
There's a young child in the yard out front, with his eyes spinning round.
And in the window stares a widow, with her smile turning down.
And if you ask her she might tell you about a broken heart inside.
And how it shattered on a rainy night and left her all alone to cry.

    Chorus:
There's a fire that burns higher
Yet we pretend to feel no pain
    And fire killing desire
If we just remain the same
But the fire can lift you higher
If you let your sole sail free
    Because the fire of desire
Is made of you and me.

Caught a reflection off your window
as I was passing by today.
And I'm not really sure if you were home or not, but I trust you'll find your way.
And if you ask me I might tell you
about a river through my veins.
And if you trust me I will not hurt you
I refuse to stay the same.

    Chorus:
