    Story Behind the Song
This song is actually two songs which I had written a single verse and chorus for, but was unable to find suitable second verses for. until I merged them and found that they complimented nicely.

As for the meaning of the lyrics - I leave that to the listener as all things are relative to the observer.

This is a rough draft recording - it will be updated shortly.

    Lyrics
Sadness, my Brother / Nothing to Say
    Words by Alan Avery
    Music by Alan Avery

Who is that / there behind me
Never mind / it's just my friend
Whose words are bitter / but always truthful
    Carries quite a / sting
Sadness, my brother / though I've treated you the worst
You're the only one who / always returns
When the others have left me / to my own devices
And I've tried to ditch him / with my vain self delusion
hiding behind the illusion / of love

I don't know if I'm living or dying,
I'm not sure if I'm laughing or crying,
I can't tell if the sun is rising or setting,
And I'm not sure I care anymore

(Music goes straight into Nothing to Say)

    Dazed communication,
With a memory I once knew.
    Pondering the situation,
    not knowing what to do.
It was not long before I had to leave,
There was not much to say.
I walked inside and closed the blinds so you would not see me,
    Watch you drive away.

    Were we really moving forward,
Or were we just moving apart?
Holding on to a broken friendship,
we had no where to start.
I couldn't handle seeing you again,
    I don't have the heart,
    Were we really moving forward,
or were we just moving apart...
