	Story Behind the Song We wrote "The Wild Ride" after seeing a Mavericks show. We were lucky enough to get backstage and meet the band. They're such great writers, but we were thinking how cool it would be to pitch a song to them. The opportunity never came up. ***March 2000*** This song did really well on MP3.com in January 2000, holding the number one spot in Country General for a week or so and staying in the Country top 10 for most of the month. I felt the mix was a bit flat though, so here is a reprocessed version with a bit of strangeness tagged on at the top.
