Story Behind the Song
I'm a big movie fan. I've always wanted to write a song for movie. Thsi song sounds like
it could be in a Lynch movie. The visual refrences are inspired by desert songs by America and The Eagles. I grew up in Illinois, not much desert there...
Lyrics
To you I'm gone, there's not a trace of me
Any where, that you can see
We've gone along there's another place to be
And you can come, if you believe
Faith is a road, I've walked along
I hitched a ride, from time to time
But the road is hot,
and the truckers sing their song
Still my feet move on, like a crime
This is the day
This is the moment
You've waited for
such a lonely time
Don't let it go
Don't miss the exit
Because another day
may be too late
The desert air, is hot and haunting
the colors bend, and intertwine
Though water's scarce, and the path is daunting
I must move on, down the line
When the evening comes, and the moon rises
You can hear the ground, release it's heat
Coyote's howl, as the moon surmises
What it may do, to kill the light
Life in the heat, life in the ground
The water's sweet, the rain profound
When the morning comes, my soul rejoices
For the sweet embrace, of the golden ball
We make our beds, we cast our choices
Until we face, the final call
