Story Behind the Song
More about the ex long-distance boyfriend. Haven't seen him, he moved, wanted to write him or call him or something but have no clue what his address or phone number is. Very frustrating, actually. So I wrote a song about it. Whee!
Lyrics
I would like to send you a letter
I would like to give you a call
It would make me feel better
Knowing you're still there at all
I would like to send you a letter
But I don't know your new address
And the postman doesn't deliver
To a name, and a face, and a couple of regrets
Still I wrote you a letter
I doubt you'll ever read
Still I wrote you a letter
Do you remember me?
I would like to send you a letter
I would like to see you again
Even though you're a wonderful lover
Now I just want to be your friend
I would like to send you a letter
I would like to remind you I'm here
But the postman doesn't deliver
To the boyfriend you lost because things weren't clear
Still I wrote you a letter
I doubt you'll ever read
Still I wrote you a letter
Do you remember me?
I know that you loved me a year ago
And all that I wanted was you
But since you dumped me a year ago
I'm different, I'm better, I'm new
There is no reason to run from me
Now that my heart has moved on
Obviously you're not the one for me
But did you even care that I'm gone?
I would like to send you a letter
I would like to know how you feel
Though the love maybe coulda been better
I though the friendship was real
And so, still I wrote you a letter
I hope you'll someday read
Still I wrote you a letter
Do you remember me?
Don't you remember me?
Please remember me...
Remember me.
