	www.mp3.com/_Atman2_ ~ Atman is the solo musical project from Alessandro Fronte, a 34 years old eclectic musician that has been involved in musical acts of different nature for many years, stating from the'80s. Atman project started at the beginning of the '90s; the music is consistently influenced from electronic music together with many other instrumental music traditions, and rely on the best-of-breed modern technology. Nevertheless, Atman music diverges consistently from the nearly "mechanical sounding" electronic music you will mostly hear today. A good balance of sequencing and programming, real instrument play and improvisation, along with the use of non-electronic instruments give life to instrumental pieces that are at times emotional, at times chilling, always solidly built and with a deep human feel.

	Story Behind the Song This is the third release of "Lontano" and as many of my early works, the first version was almost fully improvised. The partially revised second version was released 3 years ago. This is one of my favorite compositions and it took very much time to evolve to this third and (... I think) definitive version. While is the electric guitar that will draw your attention, you should pay equal attention to the complex and continuously evolving background soundscape. Unfortunately I have to warn you that the 128k mp3 version ruins in a visible (should I say hearable?) way the background textures, expecially where the "white oriented" sound becames more incisive. In the 192k version (CD) this mp3 encoding problem is much less evident.
