	Story Behind the Song Mixed Messages was written and recorded 1988. Engineered by Larry Lessard of Active Sound, it was part of a series of songs (including Bread & Circus and Hollywood)which used one repeating bass sequence throughout and built layers with keys, guitars and sounds to add texture.
