A song about seeing life, and realizing it's not what you thought it was... As a child things look so beautiful and bright, and so in many way's this song is just about growing up and finding that all those beautiful things are truly corrupt...
CD: Gemini   Label: (currently looking for label)
Credits: produced written and performed by Michael Bell (Secular Soul)

    Story Behind the Song
I was sitting on the beach, looking at the ocean under the stars, thinking of how life has become corrupt, simple has been complicated, and people have turned into monsters... then the realization hit me that this isn't something that just happened overnight, it's something that's always been there, as a child however I just wasn't able to see it... Just as the light's on the boardwalk raped the night of it's star lite beauty, humanity has been raped by continous uneeded complcations...

    Lyrics
    My mind is in overdrive
    thinking of the reasons why
    I question everything that's real
    until I have nothing left

    Looking outside, the city lights
aren't what they used to be
Looking inside, my heart and mind
aren't what they used to be

My heart is, in a paper box
it shakes when, you breathe too hard
I saw it, just the other day
in the fire of the words I say

    Looking outside, the city lights
aren't what they used to be
Looking inside, my heart and mind
aren't what they used to be

    My soul has, disapeared
    Was it, ever there?
I'm not sure, but I've been told
that I won't ever grow old
if I keep up this way
but for me it's too late for change

    Looking outside, the city lights
arent what they used to be
looking inside, my heart and mind
arent what they used to be
