A song inspired by the styles of Woody and Johnny. On this one I figured why reinvent the wheel, when the wheel rolls just fine?
CD: Working title - The Absolute Ache   Label: Sawbelly Sounds
    Credits: Steve Fort

    Story Behind the Song
I had to write this song in our time of government mistrust, erosion of civil liberties, and blind allegiance. Johnny isnt/wasnt afraid to speak his mind, make mistakes, and admit to all of it. All the while, still a patriot.

Message? Be true to yourself. Dont get walked on in the name of the flag and patriotism. Those who want to extinguish freedoms for short term security are the most un-American of all.

And when you are in the dumps, down and depressed, draw inspiration from real heroes, not those concocted in the media and corporate icon machines. Lincoln, Lombardi, MLK, Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash.

Dont let the plastic bring you down my friend, Johnny wouldnt.

    Lyrics
Ill Cry the Day Johnny Cash Dies

Ill Cry the Day Johnny Cash Dies
Ill Cry the Day Johnny Cash Dies
Ill Cry on the day they say he passed away
Ill Cry the Day Johnny Cash Dies

I hear a song that speaks to me
The singers not afraid to sing
Not afraid to admit that hes done wrong
Ill cry when Johnny Cash is gone

He understands the plight of man
    Authoritys iron hand
One mans right is another mans wrong
Ill cry when Johnny Cash is gone

Hey Man, dont you change that station
Hey Man, thats the story of our nation
Floods and fire and prison and pain

Ill Cry on the day they say he passed away
Ill Cry the Day Johnny Cash Dies

There have been many great Americans
    Lindbergh Lombardi and Lincoln
Catfish Hunter and Cheech and Chong
Ill cry when Johnny Cash is gone

Where have all the heroes gone
    Expectations sure have fallen
Greed and lies and oil have won
Ill cry when Johnny Cash is gone

Hey Man, don’t you change that station
Hey Man, that’s the story of our nation
Flood and fire and prison and pain

Ill Cry on the day they say he passed away
Ill Cry the Day Johnny Cash Dies
