Love anthem penned for a marriage that has lasted 30 years, and I FINALLY wrote a song dedicated to the one it's written for; and how we got here, synoptically.

    Story Behind the Song
Finally wrote a song for my wife, and best friend of 30 years, although it should've, would've, could've come sooner; but did come in time for the wedding of my daughter of 25 years.

The chord progression uses open chords held in the same position at different fret positions. Simple but dramatic and has been in my personal repretoire for a while. The Steve Howe influence from Yes's "Starship Trooper" should be evident.

The lyrics finally came when the pressure of my daughters wedding began to loom, missing the opportunity to have it written in time for _my_ 25th wedding anniversary. Better late than never.

    Lyrics
"What Our Love Has Become", Words and Music © 2002, Phfobricopeia

CH: Look at what our love has become
And it feels like it has just begun.

1V: Was it really that long a time ago,
When my head and heart fell under your spell?
It seems precious years have come and gone,
But it's just a drop in the cosmic well.
You made it so easy to commit myself
And offer this life I live and share it with you.
As the world looked on we took our chances.
What might have gotten old, became ever new.

CH: Look at what our love has become
And it feels like it has just begun.

2V: Parting really made the love grow stronger,
When I, travel-bound and you, took a stand.
We always did get it back together.
It's the woman that's you, that makes me the man that I am!

CH: Look at what our love has become
And it feels like it has just begun. (x2)
    Like it's just begun...

    BR: Coming home. Never alone.
    Coming home. Never alone.
    Coming home. Never alone.
    Coming home. Never alone.

    SOLO, over 3rd verse

CH: Look at what our love has become
And it feels like it has just begun. (x2)
    Like it's just begun...

    BR: Coming home. Never alone.
    Coming home. Never alone.
    Coming home. Never alone.
    Coming home. Never alone. (x2)
