Lyrics
After that day of listening to the music box, Hondo was inspired to start composing his music. As he wrote, the days quickly became summer. He loved summer and was a little sad that it would probably go as quickly as it came. For awhile, he hit a block and just did not feel very creative. Eventually he did overcome his melancholy, however, through music. Hondo started writing something that was a little sad and he found that was satisfying at first, but then he wanted it to go to another place where he would feel totally uplifted out of his skin. Successful with this, he felt like a butterfly flying free through the wide-open sky.
Then all of a sudden, like a bird flying into a window pane, the months fell away with the falling leaves of autum. The cool, crisp air brought a strong scence of change. The sky never seemed so clean and blue next to the rustic scene of orange and red leaves landing into a colorful painting, brushed across the ground. Hondo flashed back to his youth in America when he and his sister, Emma Jo, would play in the leaves, diving into huge piles their parents had raked. Hondo also remembered Holloween and dressing into costume and going up to the neighbors' doors with his sister. This time of year made him feel like a kid again in his heart.
Now, winter was approaching as the air got cold and every last leaf was fallen. The days were shorter and like a hibernating bear, Hondo knew it was going to be a long, dark, and cold winter. He wrote another masterpiece of music, while picturing being warm and cozy inside as the blanketing snow sort of stops time and the outside winter winds whisper against the window.
