Story Behind the Song
Recorded in our parent's basement in 1980 on a borrowed tape deck, this song is our first effort to document the band. We wanted to capture a sense of raw energy.
Lyrics
I'm by myself when the clock strikes two
I lie awake and I think of you
You got your life and I've got mine
I need you, girl, or I'll lose my mind
There's no sense in my hangin' around
I know I lost you and you'll never be found
I've got to know
Where did you go?
Yes, once I saw you- it hurt to see
I wish my memory would let me be
You've got your life, I've got one of my own
You must believe me, got to leave me alone
You know it, girl, you sure broke my heart
You stopped me cold, you tore my soul apart
You saw it comin', but I guess I was blind
Now go away or I'll lose my mind
