	Story Behind the Song Paul JG is an artist on BeSonic.com, a popular Euro/American site which hosts artists much like MP3.com. After hearing Paul's songs online and seeing his requests on BeSonic for a partner to help complete the instrumental "Faded From Memory" with lyrics and an "Enya-like voice", I decided to contact him. He sent me a CD of a dozen or so songs, some in an Enya-like style. I started working and reworking Faded, first writing the lyrics. I used Homer's Odyssey as an inspiration for the lyrics, because after listening to the song in the car, my mother said it reminded her of ships at sea. So borrowing Homer's ancient seafaring story was my best idea, leading me to write from the point of Odysseus's wife who sits home waiting for her husband to come back while men try and win her hand. The melody was the easiest part, the most fun part of all writing the harmonies for back up vocals. Paul's writing was strong to begin with, so I did not have to work very hard on writing a melody to this song, in a way it was already there. Recording is always an issue for me, I had major problems with de-essing (getting rid of hisses on consonants like "s" and "t") and that is why I took so long finishing this song. I re-recorded all of my main vocals at least 3 times. I hope everyone enjoys this my latest and first-ever collaborative project.
