Story Behind the Song
This guitar riff has been in my system for a number of years and the vocal melody came about late at night while I was jamming with my friend Sean Taylor in Boston, MA a few years ago. It came into its own here in Austin & has really evolved live, featuring trumpet & trombone & cool piano licks.
It has a poppy/uppity feel with slightly sullen lyrics. Mostly about letting go or telling someone to let go ... love love love.
Lyrics
Let her go, don't talk about it.
I'm tired of holding on.
This world was never made for recalls,
I'm tired of holding on.
Chorus:
Should I, could I?
You'll hurt me like before
It's true that you,
Impose the hand outside ... the door.
You dig around, like you lost your trophy.
The fire light's about out.
This girl is never what she could be,
I'm tired of holding on.
Chorus
