A dark mysterious electronic based song about the love that never should have been |
CD: Original Syn
|
Story Behind the Song
The motivation for the song came from someone that I used to date. He lied, cheated, and became an immense hypocrite, and in that, the song was born.
It was written mainly during my spare time at school, and took about 4 days. The recording process was lengthy, but was finished in about 3 days, after just a couple of takes. It was created to be simple, using just a keyboard bass, strings and drums.
Lyrics
Head like a hole
Can't get out of this cave
The damage is done for now
Nothing left to save
There's a conflict of character
In what you pretend to be
Why should I bother with you
When I haven't even begun to deal with me
It's nice to know exactly where you're going
Don't say you're falling in love
You don't know the meaning of the word
Wretches can redeem themselves
But freaks will stay absurd
I'm the tosser for thinking
You could ever be the man that you're not
But you're the loser, yes you're the loser
You think you're above God
Chorus:
But you are worthless
You're a rebel with no cause
And you are faithful to the man you just forgot
You are thoughtless, you are selfish
You are crude
But you'll be crying
When I make a fool of you
Degenerate
Never trust anyone who spends their time sleeping with liars
You'll have third degree burns before you even see the fire
And it doesn't really matter how clever you think you are
I may not be strong but I'll make sure to leave a scar
It's nice to know exactly where you're going
I'm sorry for these bitter words
But I have no options left
No shits to give right now
So don't waste your precious breath
I'm fed up with everything
So don't bother to plead your case
Just leave me be, don't speak to me
I've got my own hell to raise
Chorus
It's nice to know exactly where you're going
