	Written for a friend of mine who bellydances, this song is one of claiming whatever dance makes your heart sing and makes your soul rise with joy.

	Story Behind the Song I was performing at an art show, and this lady was dancing to one of my other tunes that has a theme of night and beauty combined with a Latin beat. She came up later, when we were both going to be performing for another show at the same shop and told me she wanted to choreograph a dance to something of mine. I was so touched I wrote the song for her, trying to capture the beauty I saw there. Her smile and the joy she expressed. It was funny because I was told on Monday, wrote it on Wednesday, she choreographed it on Thursday, and we performed it on Friday. The hardest part of recording it was that I had to use the form we wrote that day because that was how she performed it. That is why it had 3 repetitions on the last verse of one section because she beckoned to the right, the left, and then the middle inviting the audience to dance with her :) I believe I did the song in 2 stages, once with the keyboards (only 2 takes), and once more with both the guitar and voice together over the background. It's such a wonderful song to play and I love when my friends join and dance with me. Jodi has become a teacher and many of the people who have bought this CD now dance her dance to this song. Lyrics TO DANCE V1: So she danced in the moonlight holding forth her hands. Spinning she danced in the moonlight reaching out to the land. Stars fell and whispered. The leaves swayed in time. Wind sang and beat out a soft ancient rhyme. V2: Next she danced in the sunlight lifting her arms so high. She leapt and spun in the sunlight reaching up to the sky. The clouds gathered round her. Rainbows sprung from her hair. The earth rose to meet her as she danced upon the air. CH: Joy is in her rhythm. Within her heart beats fire. Beneath her feet is hope and peace. It's a prayer that lifts her higher. 4 beat short break V3: As she sways her body becomes the music and the beat. Soon she is not dancing with just her hips and feet. Now she is rising so high above the land. She dances in her soul with the spirit hand in hand. CH: V4: Now she reaches out to you with a smile on her face.
