Story Behind the Song
Comes a time in the world when enough's enough. When it comes right down to it, if He asks you, you'd pay any price; wouldn't you!
I wrote the song a couple of years ago. Usually it's the same way... a guitar piece starts the ball rolling to a chorus melody, then the lyrics and hooks. Bridges are usually last for me as a change of pace. It's hard to say how long it takes sometime. Usually bits and pieces are developed at different times.
Lyrics
NOT TOO HIGH (by Craig Rainey)
V1
I never saw you but I feel you there
Evidence leads to confession
Believe the truth believe the tear filled eyes
Lies are all part of possession
(PChorus)
Can’t you see me standing there
as you walk on by?
I’ll pay the price you say so
(Chorus)
'Cause it’s not too high, no it’s not too high, it's not too high
(V2)
I think it’s real and it’s not all in my head
Just can’t handle pure rejection
I crave the bond I know that now has bled
Take me back to my connection
(PChorus)
Everything we live for can’t all be a lie
I’ll pay the price you say so
(Chorus)
'Cause it’s not too high, no it’s not too high, it's not too high
(B)
I’ll never be what you see
Give me a chance please consider me
And then send me again
Back to this life if you want to!
(Chorus)
'Cause it’s not too high, (rep)
