Story Behind the Song
The song was written about the author’s 4-year-old son, and how he can drive the whole house crazy.
One line says “bouncing off the walls, and biting the little dog”. This is an actual event where the author had to get rid of his dog because his son kept biting it’s tail.
It’s a funny song, but also represents actually life with a very active small boy.

Cameron was a boy, who drove his mommy crazy.
He’d drive her crazy every day and night.
He’d wake up in the morning an shout to everyone
(Chorus)
Why, oh why, oh why can’t I?
Why, oh why, oh why can’t I?
The day that he was born, we all knew our life would change.
But we didn’t know how much.
How can such a little guy have so much energy?
(Chorus)
Why, oh why, oh why can’t I?
Why, oh why, oh why can’t I?
Cameron was a boy, who drove his mommy crazy.
He’d drive her crazy every day and night.
Bouncing off the walls and biting the little dog.
(Chorus)
Why, oh why, oh why can’t I?
Why, oh why, oh why can’t I?
(Bridge)
Drive me crazy, all the time
Drive me crazy, all the time
Solo
Cameron was a boy, who drove his mommy crazy.
He’d drive her crazy every day and night.
Bouncing off the walls and biting the little dog.
(Chorus)
Why, oh why, oh why can’t I?
Why, oh why, oh why can’t I?
So if you’ve got a boy, I hope he doesn’t drive you nuts.
Even though we know he probably will
Always just remember that little kids grow up so fast.
(Chorus)
Why, oh why, did time fly by?
Why, oh why, did time fly by?
(Bridge)
Drive me crazy, all the time
Drive me crazy, all the time
Drive me crazy, all the time
Drive me crazy, all the time
