	Story Behind the Song I spent six weeks visiting the juvenile penitentiary in South Central L.A., a few yars ago. Every Sunday, I would go with my friend Jennifer Borges and we would visit and speak with the kids there in Juvenile Hall about changing their lives. Many of the k ids were living with gangs, or gang members, some abandoned by their families, or without any family. This was a very revealing time for me. I saw myself in the eyes of those children. We were all the same;sharing the same emotions, anger, resentment, so r row, fear. We shared many of the same hopes and dreams. We are all it seems, just a circumstance away from one another and the child in us, is so fragile, magical, and so precious. Under the layers of life's experiences all of us are innocent and pure a nd the same.
