    Lyrics
Well I'm leaving this town in the morning
To a place somewhere just for a change
I can't go on the way I've been going
And I'm going nowhere if I stay

    There's a song I heard
    On the radio about leaving
    By a country band
    That travels all around

About a trucker who's always late
    To where he's going
    But he's never too late
When it comes to leaving town

People say that there's no life
    Left to wandering
    That all those different places
    Are all the same
10,000 miles and I'm still not much closer
To that lonesome sound I always seem to chase

Everybody when they hear that whistle blowing
    There's a part of them
In the wind about that sound
It calls to them and deep inside
    A feeling starts to flowing
    A feeling that wants to
    Make them traveling bound

Once before when I heard that whistle blowing
In the wind that blows from town to town
It brought me here from where I'll be leaving
In the morning when daylight comes to town
