Story Behind the Song
This song is a tribute to keeping a good attitude inspite of all that life throws at you. Originally inspired by a coworker who lost her husband to cancer and fell on hard times and yet she always kept a positive attitude and had a quiet confidence that things would just turn out "peachy".
The first recording was easy, but then the guitar intro was embellished and several takes were required to capture the right feel. Hope we got it right.

Keep On Standing

Nobody said it was gonna be easy,
I didn't think that it would be this hard.
I didn't think that I'd be eating on silver,
But, life's been hitting me with disregard.
But everything will turn out peachy
In the end, you'll see.
Cause I've made friends
with the dead and the living,
And they're standing here with me.
And if you'll keep on standing,
I'll keep on standing,
And together we can stand it okay.
Cause, I just don't think I can stand it alone
another day.
Now, I'm alone. Its just me and my children.
Gone so fast, just a shadow on my heart.
It eats away at something inside us,
Pulls us together and rips us apart.
[instrumental]
It doesn't take a strong, kind person,
It doesn't take the patience of a saint.
It ain't fair; it ain't the way things should happen,
I'll still accept it all without complaint.
Cause everything will turn out peachy
In the end, you'll see.
Cause I've made friends
with the dead and the living,
And you're standing here with me.
And if you'll keep on standing,
I'll keep on standing,
And together we can stand it okay.
Cause, I just don't think I can stand it alone another day.
